Turn Your Recycling into Cash
​Mate’s Gift is now part of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme — and it’s never been easier to turn your bottles and cans into direct support for our on-the-ground projects. Whether you’re local or live elsewhere in Victoria, you can help. We’re currently working on a QR code that will allow supporters across the state to choose Mate’s Gift as the recipient of their refunds at eligible collection points. Right now, if you’re in Melbourne, you can drop your eligible bottles and cans to: Hairy Hounds Playground – 12 Bentley Street, Williamstown North, VIC We’ll take care of the rest, returning the containers and using the funds to support our ongoing work — including monthly parasite treatments, desexing programs, and animal care in the communities we serve. Every can counts. Literally.
Footy Tipping
A Mate's Gift Tradition
​Not all fundraising has to be big, time-consuming, or hands-on. Some of the most effective contributions come from community-led initiatives — like our annual Footy Tipping Competition, created and managed by the amazing Melanie Day, a passionate Mate’s Gift supporter. This low-fuss, high-fun fundraiser allows us to raise much-needed funds while staying focused on our time-intensive work on the ground. In 2025, the comp will raise $600 for Mate’s Gift, simply through the power of footy, friendly rivalry, and a great supporter network.
