Fundraising
for the
Animals
Mate’s Gift is dedicated to improving the lives of street and owned dogs in Southeast Asia by funding desexing clinics, providing vital resources, and supporting local animal welfare initiatives to create healthier and more sustainable communities.

Who is Mate?
Mate’s Gift was inspired by Mate, a remarkable dog born in Tangkahan, Sumatra, in 2014. Against all odds, Mate survived early hardships and became a life-changing companion to his mum.
After an arduous journey, he found a loving home in Australia, where his strength and gentle soul touched everyone he met. Though he passed in 2023, Mate’s legacy lives on through our mission to improve the lives of animals in Southeast Asia and beyond. Together, we honour his love and spirit.

How can you help?
We’re always looking for fun, low-effort fundraiser ideas like this that our supporters can run independently — things that make a big impact without needing hours of our team’s time. These kinds of initiatives help us stay focused on the daily demands of running life-saving programs in Bali and Sumatra.
If you’ve got an idea of your own, we’d love to hear from you!
